This is it. It's finally happening.

This website has been a pain in my back trying to create, but with more time and more experience it will get better and better.

I guess you need a little brief on who I am, and why I started this. Well I really like music, I mean who doesn't? I am interested in so many genres it would be so tedious of me to lay it all out for you guys, but all I can say is if you've taken to your time out to check out this page then I know that you're interested in the same music as me. I'll be looking at sharing all the freshest finds that I like, be it new songs or new artists. I will also attempt at predicting who will be the hottest aspiring musicians of the month just standard blogging there - what makes me different though from other sites is that you can follow my weekly finds either from this web page, or from my Friday radio slots on wiredradio.co.uk so you'll never miss out. If you don't have time for either those outlets, there still is hope for you! Every set that I have at the radio station, I create a playlist which I share on my Spotify account for everyone to listen too (ain't I nice). That is the mission, and you are the followers.

I guess for this opening post I'll just share a few artists who I think will have an interesting year that is for sure.

Dave // Dave Santan

Dave an up and coming artists in the Grime scene, from South East London. Only 17 and already rubbing shoulders with arguably the greatest rapper of our generation Drake. Impressing hugely with with his collaborative song featuring Drake - Wanna Know. Before this however Dave was clocking a huge following on youtube as do many upcoming rappers. He's currently sat with 1,929,719 views on his Fire in the booth. As Charlie rightly says in the video, "you're an absolute beast cuz" and he really is, he clearly knows what he's doing but there is a rawness to him. He really does make you just want to sit back and listen to his jaw dropping rhymes, particularly in this video.

Has a new released single. A slow burner with twinkling key chords and strong beats which change the dynamics of the song. The video above is the video release for the song titled 'Samantha'.

This song can be an indication in the direction Dave will be going this year, if he continues to release songs of this level, seeing as he's only 17 he defiantly has a bright future ahead of him.

Jalen Santoy

I only found this artist by chance on my Spotify browse page. Thank you Spotify, because this guy is defiantly another to look out for. Jalen Santoy, a rapper from Charlotte, NC. Originally from Charleston, SC, the enriching culture is heavily present in his music.

In March 2015, Santoy released his single “Foreplay”, which holds an ever-growing amount of plays on SoundCloud, Spotify etc.”. For me "Foreplay" is defiantly his best song so far, but that doesn't take away from all the other songs he's released the opening tune of the jazzy vibe of the song and the rhythmic and smooth rhymes. After the release of “Foreplay Santoy dropped his second single, “Off The Glass” in February 2016.

The single was produced by Grammy nominated hip-hop producer Daniel Worthy, and the first from his work with the upcoming project, “Charlie Eastern.” Santoy’s latest EP “Charlie Eastern” was released May 2016. There is defiantly more in the locker from this artists, so that is why he's in my watchthisspace list of upcoming artists this year.

Jessie Reyez

An artist that I have been raving about since finding out about her through pigeons and planes. This artist has only released a few songs, both of which are without a doubt spine chilling - her sound is so majestic and special.

Jessie Reyez' "Figures," was such a strong debut to her solo career, there was the hope that it wasn't a fluke. That a future gem had just been unearthed. This however wasn't the case for Reyez, now with her second release "Shutter Island", the Toronto singer is really proving she isn't a one hit wonder, and that there is plenty more to come from her.

Opening in the same stripped-back manner as her debut, “Shutter Island” eventually breaks out into powerful, unrestrained emotion as the song builds. Mirroring the insane reality of a toxic relationship gone south, gritty electronic production thunders under her grief-stricken vocals. I can't wait to hear what will be next, so that is why she is going down as one to look out for this year.

That is it, but there are so many artists that should be mentioned: Yellow days, SG Lewis, Lewis Grant, Tapiwa Muchenje, Maggie Rogers, Mura Masa, ALMA, Joey Bada$$, Ray Blk and so many more.
